About DMRF Canada

Dystonia is a movement disorder that causes the muscles to contract and spasm involuntarily. Blepharospasm (BEB) is a type of focal dystonia characterized by increased blinking and involuntary closing of the eyes.

Dystonia Medical Research Foundation Canada (DMRF Canada) works to support the needs and well being of affected individuals and families. In the following video, Greater Toronto Area Support Group Leader Shirley Lee talks about the hope and support her group—and others like it—provide.

Coming Together with Hope and Support

DMRF Canada Support Groups and local contacts provide an opportunity for people with dystonia to come together - they can reach out and help one another, learn more about dystonia through education, guest speakers, help raise the profile of dystonia through awareness programs and contribute to research through local fundraising efforts.

You can learn more about Dystonia Support Groups on the DMRF Canada website.
